What to Check Before Buying a Used Trimming Press
Frame and flywheel
Inspect the main frame for cracks at the column-base joint. On eccentric trimming presses, check flywheel key and hub for fretting corrosion from overloading.
Slide parallelism
Trimming requires precise slide alignment to cut flash evenly without tearing. Measure slide parallelism at all four corners with the press at bottom dead center.
Die height adjustment
Verify the stroke adjustment mechanism operates smoothly and locks securely. Inconsistent die height causes variable trim quality and premature die breakage.
Clutch and brake
Single-stroke operation is standard for trimming. The clutch must disengage cleanly at top dead center and the brake must hold the slide without drift.
Ejector system
Check ejector pins and actuating cams if fitted. A faulty ejector causes parts to stick in the lower die and stops production.

Matching a Trimming Press to Your Forging Line
A typical forging sequence is preform, block, finish forge, trim and then size or calibrate. The trimming press should be matched to the buyer's existing forging press by trim force, die height, stroke, table size and cycle speed, so it can remove flash without becoming the bottleneck after the finish-forge operation. TRIGA helps select individual presses for an existing customer line; this is not an offer to supply a complete production line.

We issue a commercial invoice and packing list; road shipments travel with CMR, sea shipments with a Bill of Lading. Certificates such as EUR.1 or A.TR and customs declarations are handled by your customs broker or forwarder; we supply the machine data they need, including the HS code.
