The Agostino Colombo G1600 is a knuckle joint press with a 135 mm stroke and a 1060×900 mm bolster, built for cold forging, coining, sizing and calibration where precision at the bottom of the stroke matters more than stroke length. The process decides: hot forging line or cold precision work.

Permits and routing

What to Check at Inspection
Frame integrity
At 120 tons of machine weight, a structural defect in the frame has serious safety and repair-cost consequences. Request magnetic particle or dye penetrant test records if available. If not, arrange a qualified structural inspection before purchase.
Main shaft and eccentric
Bearing clearances on a machine this size affect stroke accuracy and die alignment. Measure radial play in the main shaft bearings and compare against the manufacturer's specification.
Clutch and brake system
At this force level, the clutch and brake are safety-critical components. Verify disc condition, operating pressure and brake response time. On TMP Voronezh machines, clutch disc wear is the most common maintenance item at this age.
Hydraulic overload protection
Machines of this class include hydraulic overload protection as standard. Test that it trips at the correct pressure and resets. A non-functional overload system is a disqualifying defect on a press of this size.
Flywheel and drive train
Inspect keyway fit, flywheel bearing condition and drive belt or gear train for signs of fatigue or misalignment. On a machine that has been idle, check for corrosion on the flywheel shaft and drive gear teeth.
