Used EUMUCO Hot Forging Presses
EUMUCO built forging equipment from 1869 and later became part of SMS Group as SMS Eumuco. The SP series covers mechanical hot forging presses for high-output die forging. TRIGA's recent EUMUCO SP 100 reference press has been sold. For current enquiries, TRIGA sources EUMUCO and SMS Eumuco presses through a partner network on request, with inspection, dismantling and export logistics arranged for each machine.
About EUMUCO Hot Forging Presses
The EUMUCO SP series is built around mechanical press architecture for hot die forging. A rigid frame, eccentric drive, guided slide and precise clutch-brake operation are central to its role in repeated forging cycles for automotive and engineering components.
The TRIGA reference machine is an EUMUCO SP 100, a 1000 ton mechanical hot forging press with a 250 mm slide stroke, 100 strokes per minute, an 850 x 1250 mm table, wedge slide adjustment and a 50 ton machine weight. The specification suits compact high-output forging lines where die size and stroke match the SP 100 envelope.
Used EUMUCO presses should be assessed as production machines, not only as historic German equipment. The practical checks are clutch and brake condition, eccentric shaft and main bearings, guide clearance, frame condition, lubrication and electrical controls. TRIGA can document candidate machines and coordinate removal and export for accepted offers.

What to Check When Buying a Used EUMUCO Press
Clutch and brake
Inspect friction linings, springs, pneumatic valves and stopping angle. On a 100 spm hot forging press, clutch-brake condition directly affects safety, die timing and repeatability.
Eccentric shaft and bearings
Check the eccentric shaft, main bearings and bearing housings for play, scoring and fretting. Repair is possible, but it is one of the highest-cost areas of a mechanical forging press.
Slide guides and adjustment
Measure guide clearance and verify wedge slide adjustment over its working range. Poor guide condition or seized adjustment reduces die alignment and complicates setup.
Frame condition
Inspect the crown, bed, uprights and high-stress corners for cracks, old weld repairs and overload marks. Frame integrity is critical when the press returns to repetitive hot forging work.
Electrical system and controls
Check cabinet condition, motor data, overload devices, interlocks and operator controls. Confirm what was modernised and what remains original before budgeting installation work.
Frequently Asked Questions
EUMUCO SP presses are mechanical hot forging presses for die forging of hot steel parts. They are used for automotive and engineering forgings where cycle speed, die alignment and repeatable energy delivery are important.
The recent TRIGA EUMUCO SP 100 reference press has been sold. We can source EUMUCO and SMS Eumuco presses through our partner network on request when a buyer sends the required force, stroke, table size and destination.
TRIGA sells machines as found. We do not supply spare parts. Parts sourcing is the buyer's responsibility. Standard bearings, clutch linings, pneumatic and electrical components may be sourced commercially; major press-specific parts require specialist suppliers or manufacture to drawing.
Yes. TRIGA can organise dismantling and loading at the source location. If the buyer prefers to arrange their own crew, we coordinate access and timing with the seller.
Yes. We arrange shipping to any destination - Europe, Asia, India, the Middle East. Road transport goes with CMR documentation; for intercontinental shipments we handle Bill of Lading and export paperwork. All logistics are covered under the sale contract.
